CDYSL requires USSF coaching licenses for all Head Coaches of CDYSL Rostered Teams. Information regarding this rule is found on the coaching licenses page, click here to view. The CDYSL Coaching Education Program is described here. The CDYSL coaching requirement can be fulfilled by obtaining an ENY coaching license or a CDYSL coaching license.
The director of coaching for the CDYSL, Roy Pfeil with the approval of the Executive Board, has developed a CDYSL curriculum for the CDYSL Level 1 and Level 2 (formally " F" and "E") coaching licenses.
The Level 1 will be a 9 hour course and the Level 2 will be an 18 hour course. The curriculum is similar in content to the ENYYSA certification courses but will be customized to fit the needs of the CDYSL coaches. In addition, the courses will be significantly less costly than those presentably given by Eastern NY and will fulfill the coaching requirement that CDYSL has for all head coaches.
However, these CDYSL Level 1 and Level 2 licenses will not be accepted by Eastern NY or any other USYS State Associations as a pre requisite for taking a higher level coaching course. Therefore, if it is the intention of a coach to progress through the ENY certification, it is not recommended that these courses be taken. If a coach is unsure which coaching certification would work best for their needs click here for a comparison of the CDYSL and ENY courses is posted below or contact Roy Pfeil at firstname.lastname@example.org
CDYSL will also continue to sponsorEastern NY coaching courses for those coaches who wish to follow this progression. All course offerings will be posted on the CDYSL website.
